Electrical Discharge Machining is a widely used process including — die-sinking EDM — wire-cutting EDM and hole drilling EDM. EDM can be used to machine conductive materials — steel or titanium, for example — of any hardness to an accuracy of up to one-thousandth of a millimeter with no mechanical action. These properties make EDM an essential mold and tool making technology.
