Our engineering and development department is a team of engineers, technical designers and apprentices. We design spindles and sub assemblies according to the customer’s specification. Once an inquire is made we come up with a 2D sketch that the customer has to approve before the actual order will be placed. We then open a project plan involving all relevant staff with their functions. For the actual design the project engineer works with modern 3D CAD-CAM systems. He carries out all tasks needed like executing a full risk assessment which includes FMEA analysis that not only foresees possible failure and malfunctions but also considers the commercial aspect (cost/benefit balance).

All critical components are designed and layed out by means of FEM tools. Supplying all CAM datas for the project, that’s when the production and the quality inspection gets involved. A prototype will be produced that will be tested in our fully equipped laboratory with a modern drive test bench to run performance tests, endurance tests, execute complete analysis and simulations as well as diagnosing and further optimizing new developments.

All new developed spindles and sub-assemblies are subject to undergo a month long field test in the final application, in most cases in a milling machine to prove its technical performance. Upon green light by the project team and the customer, we then start the serial production. That’s when the technical documentation has to be created resulting in the operating manual and the relevant diagrams.
