The Golden Micron jury of leading industry and research specialists in microtechnology recognizes IVU Advance for its ability to facilitate precision to one micron by comparing the machined profile and the theoretical path, and as an innovative optical control and smart correcting device for wire-cutting electrical discharge machining (EDM).
At Micronora 2014, the IVU Advance technology was featured on GF Machining Solutions high-precision AgieCharmilles CUT 2000 S, the industry’s benchmark in term of cutting speed and surface integrity. The technolology, also available on the AgieCharmilles CUT 1000, CUT 1000 OilTech, CUT 2000, CUT 2000 OilTech and CUT 3000 S, is an onboard optical measurement system that allows detection of edges without contact with workpiece edges. This enables the realization of fully automatic measuring cycles and measurement of workpiece dimensions predefined in the program. IVU Advance does all of that without removal of the workpiece, thanks to an always-ready-to-measure, charge-coupled device camera with autofocus at a perfect distance from the workpiece. Contour contrast is enabled by a backlight installed on the lower arm of the wire-cutting EDM machine. IVU Advance guarantees 100 percent reliability of your wire-cutting EDM machining results by giving you greater control of process.
Along with the AgieCharmilles CUT 2000 S with IVU Advance, GF Machining Solutions’ Micronora 2014 presence included the Mikron HSM 200U LP, the high-speed Milling machine designed for highest precision and surface quality. The Mikron HSM 200U LP is especially suitable for tool- and moldmaking and the production of high-value parts.
GF Machining Solutions also participated in the event’s ZOOM booth featuring micro-mecatronics solutions, as well as the laser area where Laser-textured parts were shown.
