GF Machining Solutions, the EDM, milling and laser ablation machine tool specialist, and tooling and automation system solutions provider has announced that it will be showcasing its new AgieCharmilles CUT E 350 wire EDM machine at the 2016 Southern Manufacturing Show in Farnborough.
The machine will be sharing pride of place on the company’s stand (R110) with a best-selling Mikron HEM 500U (5-axis machining centre).
The NEW CUT E 350 wire EDM machine
This machine, first showcased at EMO 2015, is making its UK debut at The Southern Manufacturing Show.
The CUT E 350 is a compact and rigidly-built wire EDM machine that provides precision component manufacturers and toolmakers with high accuracy, improved productivity and optimised process reliability. It is designed for machining high-precision complex parts quickly and efficiently, and is supplied with GF Machining Solutions’ powerful and high-efficiency IPG digital generator and a range of performance-enhancing technology features.
These include the machine’s easy-to-use HMI (Human-Machine-Interface) control for fast and error-free set-up and operation, and the machine’s integrated Intelligent Collision Protection (ICP) system which eliminates collision-related downtime and damage to the machine and work-piece.
The high-performance of the CUT E350 is driven by the machine’s IPG generator which delivers high cutting speeds and excellent part accuracies and surface finishes. The machine’s integrated SMART technology software modules, called EXPERT systems, enable manufacturers to exploit the full potential of the CUT E 350 and, amongst other advantages, allow the machine to cut stepped work-pieces, sharp angles and small radii, and tapers and cones.
Says Martin Spencer, managing director, GF Machining Solutions (UK):
“The CUT E 350 is an efficient, economical and ergonomic machine that I know will impress visitors to our stand. The machine created a stir at EMO and I am sure it will do the same at the Southern Manufacturing Show.”
The HEM 500U
The Mikron HEM 500U is a 5-axis machine that has proved popular with precision component manufacturers.
The machine is versatile and provides manufacturers with full simultaneous 5-axis, as well as 3 + 2, machining capability and is equipped with a powerful 12,000rpm StepTec spindle for fast removal rates, a generous sized 30-position tool changer for high productivity, and linear scales, probes and Smart technology software which deliver increased part accuracies and improved process reliability.
Continues Martin Spencer:
“Manufacturers looking for a value-driven 5-axis machine that’s designed to reduce part cycle times (as well as set-up times), and deliver high accuracy and superior surface finishes will be impressed with what the HEM 500U can offer.”
