EMO Hannover 2017 is the place to experience the uncompromised performance of GF Machining Solutions’ AgieCharmilles CUT X extreme WEDM machines

Sep 19, 2017 10:51 AM

Already the superlative solution when it comes to extreme accuracies and surface qualities, the AgieCharmilles CUT X wire-cutting electrical discharge machining (WEDM) series sets the benchmark once again. The series delivers new solutions for onboard quality control and complete Automation of the EDM process. Representing a new revolution to come in the EDM process—localized spark detection—the CUT 2000 X can be seen on GF Machining Solutions’ booth (Hall 27, Stand B24) at EMO Hannover 2017, September 18–23, in Hannover, Germany.

Today, the increased pressure on manufacturers across a variety of segments to produce increasingly complex and accurate components in large volumes makes the choice of machine absolutely critical in terms of precision and productivity. In the context of just-in-time production flows, rejected parts can have devastating effects on timing.

As these manufacturing demands become more extreme, GF Machining Solutions’ AgieCharmilles CUT X series has been designed to answer these needs in applications such as microelectronics and critical parts for the automotive industry.

Excellence in results

Uncompromised quality of results is the philosophy behind the design of this solution. With accuracies as low as ±1.0 µm (for the AgieCharmilles CUT 1000 X machines) and ±1.5 µm (for the AgieCharmilles CUT 2000 X and AgieCharmilles CUT 3000 X) and surface finish down to Ra 0.03 µm whatever the direction of measurement, the AgieCharmilles CUT X series is the market leader in its category. With wires down to Ø 0.03 mm, a highly thermostable and rigid mechanical concept and the market’s largest range of dedicated technologies, this product is the answer for overcoming the most difficult requirements. Ultimately, part quality will have a significant impact on production costs and lead times.

Flexibility and efficiency

Simplified processes, reduced delivery time and increased reactivity are the benefits of the CUT X series’ Vision human-machine interface, which remains by far the most flexible and efficient way to program a machine tool. Functions such as Early-Late will adapt to users’ work organization needs, but it doesn’t stop there: To guarantee manufacturers’ uptime, rConnect for fast support is now available as well. It is the latest advance in GF Machining Solutions’ Industry 4.0 vision of intelligent, high performing and fully predictive manufacturing.

Process Automation

Automatic onboard Vision quality control and 100 percent Automation of the wire EDM process with the new Automatic Slug Management solution are the latest innovations that turn this product line not only into an outperforming WEDM machine but also into a complete and integrated solution to solve manufacturing challenges with process optimization. The Automatic Wire Changer, unique on the market, provides customers with the combination of high-accuracy micromachining and high productivity. New technologies make it even more performant.

media-release-9GF Machining Solutions’ AgieCharmilles CUT 1000 X, CUT 1000 X OilTech, CUT 2000 X, CUT 2000 X OilTech, and CUT 3000 X provide the extreme precision necessary to achieving extraordinary pitch and positioning accuracy.
