Our objectives

Our sustainability strategy addresses both environmental and social dimensions, with ambitious targets set for 2025. Key examples include:

Products and services
By 2025 all our new products will have customer environmental benefits over the entire lifecycle.

Climate and resources
By 2025 we will divide by two our greenhouse gas emissions from our sites and electricity purchases (baseline year 2019).

People and well-being
By 2025 we will reduce overall accident rate by 30% compared to the period (2018-2020).

The Swiss Triple Impact (STI) is a solution-oriented sustainability program for businesses of all sizes and sectors developed by B Lab Switzerland, one of the leading non-profit organizations in systems change, working to transform the global economy to benefit all people, communities, and the planet.

The STI program helps Swiss businesses to become future-fit by creating an impactful sustainability strategy aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 

Once pledges have been made, companies join the STI Directory, which aims to become the largest list of Swiss organizations that have committed to bold and concrete actions to contribute to the SDGs.

Initiatives

Shifting towards a proactive safety culture

  • "Be Aware – Be Safe " is the key message of the continuation of the "Zero Risk" safety campaign launched in 2018.
  • This campaign aims to raise awareness of potential risks and their consequences and proposes a sense of personal responsibility among employees with the goal of reducing the number of accidents in the workplace.

Actions to reduce our emissions
  • Our main effort was switching from grey to green electricity in our Losone, Biel and Langnau sites as well as improving the isolation of our facilities.
  • Our Biel facility achieved 98.9% carbon reduction by 2022 compared to a 2020 baseline, the remaining 1.1% were compensated with local Swiss nature-based carbon removals.

Econowatt
  • This new feature reduces the energy consumption of a machine when in standby mode while keeping the highest standards of precision.
  • Due to Econowatt and similar technologies, our standard machine energy consumption is reduced by 43% when compared to the previous generation.

Diversity trainings

  • We provided the online training "Personal branding for women". 80 participants attended this training which was given by an external trainer.
  • We continued our efforts and launched new projects covering the following topics :
    –  Women in leadership
    –  Unconscious bias training
    –  Networking events
    –  Employer attractiveness campaign targeting women

Quality, Environment, Health & Safety (QEHS) management encapsulates the integration of policies dedicated to maintaining high standards across quality control, environmental sustainability, and ensuring the health and safety of our interested parties. Our robust framework aligns with ISO standards, including ISO 9001 for Quality Management, ISO 14001 for Environmental Management, ISO 45001 for Occupational Health and Safety, and ISO 50001 for Energy Management in our Losone plant. These standards serve as benchmarks, guiding us in achieving and continually improving our performance in these crucial areas.
